A Field Guide to Timbrell Park

Acknowledgment

I acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of this land, the Gadigal People of the Eora nation, and pay my respects to the Elders past, present and emerging. I recognise their continuing contribution and deep rooted connections to the land, water and spirits of our Country. I also acknowledge the Burramattagal people of the Eora nation - owners of the land I have grown up on.

This project is part of the student learning experience in 87831 VC Design Studio: Visual Communication & Emergent Practices Spring 2019 in the Faculty of Design Architecture and Built Environment (DAB) University of Technology Sydney (UTS) and was developed under the guidance of Indigenous project leaders, research advisors and studio leaders.

This project uses Dharug Language on Eora Country.

A Field Guide to Timbrell Park is an individual-led cultural walk guided by the teachings of Uncle Jimmy. This participatory project aims to decolonise the landscape of Haberfield Bay to reveal the Indigenous cultural treasures within the space. Through “learning on country”, users will be able to strengthen their relationship to Country on this prompted walk by building a personal connection to the land.
